THE MIND'S MEDICINE
Advocating for the Freedom to Choose
It’s no secret that American society is suffering from a mental health crisis. Depression, anxiety, suicide, PTSD, addiction and other psychological disorders are all on the rise. Our culture is becoming more and more devoid of meaning and a sense of purpose in an increasingly technological age.
Psychedelic compounds such as psilocybin, have been repeatedly shown to be highly effective at treating all of these things, even in their treatment resistant forms. Research has been going on for decades in places like Johns Hopkins, New York University, Ohio State University, UC Berkeley, and UC Denver.
The interesting thing about how this happens is how it is completely different from the traditional methods of treatment for those issues. Participants in the clinical trials consistently rank the psychedelic experience as one of the most spiritually events in their lives, on par with the birth of their first child or the death of their first parent. These compounds have the effect of allowing the patient to delve further into and deal with the root causes of these issues in a way that changes how they see themselves and the issue. This is rooted in what the scientific community calls a “hyper-connection” of the brain that occurs via these compounds which has a “resetting” effect that enables the patient to forge new mental habits and understandings.
Because of this, despite the surface nature of the issue, psychedelics cross the boundaries of psychology and spirituality in profound ways that have the potential to heal our minds and our souls, and as a result, heal our society.
We now have enough data to show that decriminalization across multiple states, cities and towns has had no negative effects on public health and safety. The standard methods of treatment have failed us and left many, especially veterans, feeling without hope.
Join us as we fight for the continued decriminalization of these completely natural compounds and the ability of the people to heal themselves.
