As Reason reported on March 11, President Donald Trump’s budget would add $7.9 trillion to the national debt over the next decade.
The national debt, currently exceeding a record $22 trillion, has become one of the biggest threats to our national security and stability.
Yet neither the Rs nor Ds are serious about fixing it. They would much prefer to spend on their pet projects, to help increase their chances of re-election.
But Libertarians think differently. We know this type of budget deficit adds to the national debt and is a serious threat to our country’s future.
With the current national debt at more than $22 trillion, that’s a debt of about $68,000 for EACH man, woman, and child in the United States. Nearly $270,000 for a family of four. Isn’t that frightening?
If you think that Washington’s spending is reckless and unacceptable, please sign our petition to Congress at 22trillion.org.
The Libertarian Party is going to be sounding the alarm on this issue consistently and persistently until there is progress on this critical issue.
Thanks for being a part of this.
