Flock’s cameras scan more than 20 billion vehicles every month, across 6,000 communities in 49 states.

In Oak Park, Illinois, the village’s own police oversight commission found that over 99% of Flock alerts produced no police action whatsoever. So what is all that data actually doing?

A Texas sheriff’s office searched 83,000 cameras nationwide to hunt down a woman suspected of ending her own pregnancy. Police ran more than 4,000 nationwide lookups on behalf of federal agencies, some logged with nothing but the word “ICE.”

Pflugerville, Texas killed its contract after discovering 1.6 million outside searches of its own cameras.

This isn’t public safety. It’s a dragnet looking for a purpose, and it will find one.
Fund the party that wants it gone.

Austin let its contract lapse. Evanston and Oak Park canceled. San Marcos and Pflugerville voted theirs out. More than 30 communities have deactivated cameras or ended deals since the start of 2025, and this month a federal judge called warrantless Flock searches “indiscriminate mass surveillance.”In June, the Supreme Court ruled your phone’s location history is protected by the Fourth Amendment, and left license plate networks as the open question nobody has answered yet. None of this happens on its own. It happens when somebody shows up to a city council meeting with the records, the law, and the nerve to read them out loud. That’s what your $25 a month buys. This fight is winnable, and we are winning it.

The Libertarian Party is the only party that truly cares about your 4th Amendment rights

The Libertarian Party has long stood for individual privacy and strong Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable government searches and surveillance. The national party’s platform supports protecting our persons, homes, property and communications from government intrusion, and in 2026, the Libertarian National Committee went even further by specifically addressing warrantless surveillance technology. Its resolution names automated license plate readers from companies like Flock Safety and opposes the warrantless tracking of law-abiding Americans. Technology may change, but your constitutional rights do not. Where you drive, who you visit and how you live your everyday life should not become a searchable government record simply because the technology exists to create one.
