From KPAX-TV on March 19:
“The Libertarian candidate for Montana’s lone U.S. House of Representatives seat campaigned in Great Falls Saturday after being nominated by Montana’s Libertarian Party in Helena last week.
“Mark Wicks, a third-generation rancher from Inverness, stopped at the Gun & Western Collectible Show, held at the Montana ExpoPark, to talk with voters.
“His number one goal is to reduce what he sees as wasteful spending in Washington and one example he believes he can aim to do so is by revising the current V.A. Hospital situation.
“He says the V.A. Hospital should continue providing treatment for PTSD, prosthetics, and head injuries. However, he says there’s no sense in a veteran living in Havre to have to drive to Helena to get basic medical care.
“Instead, he says he wants to give all veterans a Medicaid card so they can go to their local hospitals for routine work in order to avoid long drives and paying for hotel rooms.
“Wicks is up against Republican Greg Gianforte and Democrat Rob Quist in the May 25 special election to fill the state’s vacant congressional seat.”
