COME HOME. YOUR PARTY IS BACK.

A new chapter has begun at the Libertarian Party.

In May, Libertarian delegates elected new national leadership. Today, the Libertarian Party is focusing on its core principles, growing membership, supporting Libertarian candidates, and strengthening the party for the future.

If you stepped away, here’s what the party wants you to know about its current direction.

WHAT’S CHANGED?

LIBERTARIAN PRINCIPLES, FRONT AND CENTER.

The Libertarian Party’s platform begins with individual sovereignty and the right of every person to live peacefully according to their own choices.

That means defending personal liberty, free expression, privacy, economic freedom and peace — while opposing government interference in peaceful activity.

Individual liberty. Peace. Free expression. Privacy. Free markets. Limited government.

LIBERTARIAN CANDIDATES MATTER.

The Libertarian National Committee works with state and local affiliates to support Libertarian candidates and expand Libertarian representation.

The party’s current leadership has identified candidate support, ballot access, membership growth and affiliate development as central priorities.

MEMBERSHIP IS GROWING AGAIN.

After years of declining membership, recent membership reports have shown renewed growth.

National Chair Evan McMahon has made rebuilding membership one of the central goals of his term, with a stated goal of reaching 66,000 dues-paying members by 2028.

THE PRINCIPLES HAVEN’T CHANGED.

Your life belongs to you.

The Libertarian Party’s Statement of Principles declares that individuals have the right to control their own lives and live as they choose, provided they respect the equal rights of others.

That principle means:

  • Your body belongs to you.
  • Your speech belongs to you.
  • Your property belongs to you.
  • Your privacy belongs to you.
  • Your peaceful choices belong to you.

Government exists with limits. Individual rights do not depend on which political party happens to hold power.

THERE’S A LONG-TERM PLAN FOR GROWTH.

The Libertarian Party’s Parity Project sets a ten-year goal of expanding the party’s size, visibility and electoral strength.

Its strategy begins by finding Americans who already identify as libertarian or libertarian-leaning and connecting them with the party.

That work — along with ballot access, candidate support and affiliate development — depends on an active national membership.

THINKING ABOUT COMING BACK?

Membership in the Libertarian Party helps maintain the national organization, support party programs and sustain the infrastructure used by Libertarian candidates, affiliates and activists.

Under the party’s current membership structure, anyone who certifies opposition to the initiation of force for political or social goals may become a basic member. Members who contribute at least $25 within the applicable 12-month period qualify for dues-paying membership and participation in party business.

Rejoin or renew today.

It only takes a few minutes.

My goal as Chair is to grow this organization and give Libertarians across the country a party they can be proud to build.

If you’ve been waiting to see where the Libertarian Party goes next, I hope you’ll take a look at what we’re doing now.
