Lisa Ballay — Bio
Lisa Ballay is a Louisiana healthcare executive, community leader, wife, mother, and grandmother who has spent more than two decades working in healthcare and physician-practice leadership.
Her career has included senior leadership overseeing surgical and specialty physician services, giving her firsthand experience with the challenges facing patients, physicians, employees, families, and businesses — particularly when bureaucracy gets in the way of the people a system is supposed to serve.
Lisa was raised in a military family and spent much of her childhood in a single-parent household. She lived in different countries and attended many different schools, experiences that taught her to adapt, listen, and connect with people from very different backgrounds.
Her service to Louisiana has included leadership as President of the West Jefferson Hospital Foundation, years of volunteer leadership and fundraising with Children’s Hospital New Orleans, service on the City of New Orleans Neighborhood Housing Advisory Committee, and appointment to the Louisiana State Museum Board.
Lisa and her husband, an ear, nose and throat physician originally from Plaquemines Parish, live in New Orleans.
Now running as a Libertarian for Louisiana’s 2nd Congressional District, Lisa says she wants to bring the practical experience of managing people, budgets, and complicated organizations to Washington — with an emphasis on individual freedom, fiscal responsibility, accessible government, and accountability to the people.
