Candidate Bio

I am a lifelong Ohioan shaped by both hardship and opportunity, giving me a grounded understanding of the challenges families face across our state. My experiences have taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of advocating for those whose voices often go unheard.
As the head of the Parent Involvement Committee at my son’s school, I have worked directly with educators, families, and administrators to strengthen the school community and push for meaningful change. I volunteer with More Than a Mom and participate in organizations focused on equitable school funding, reflecting my commitment to building stronger, fairer educational systems for all children.
I am the proud parent of a blended family of five and “Momo” to my grandson. My husband, Brian, is a combat veteran who served in the U.S. Army until an injury ended his military career. Together, we understand sacrifice, service, and the importance of community support.
Professionally, I have worn many hats as both a civilian and government employee. My educational background is in forensics, fueled by a lifelong love of history and learning. I am a graduate of Northland High School in Columbus City Schools and have spent most of my life in Columbus, with 15 years in Texas before returning home in 2020.
My political journey began when our 6th grade son found the courage to speak directly to the superintendent and Board of Education about issues affecting students in Columbus City Schools. Watching him advocate for himself and his peers made me realize that I, too, needed to speak up, not just at home, but publicly and with purpose.
I lead with passion, kindness, and love. I try to live by three simple questions:
Will it hurt me?
Will it hurt others?
Will it destroy property?
If the answer is no, then do the thing. These values guide my decisions and reflect a belief in personal responsibility, community care, and individual freedom.
