Candidate Bio

I’m Darren Hamilton — Desert Storm Marine and unapologetic Libertarian candidate who’s here to serve the people of Texas, not parties.

Texas deserves a representative who isn’t here to perform for a party base or re-enact cable news drama on taxpayer time.

I’m not running for office because I want a title. I’m running because the system doesn’t fix itself — and waiting around for “better politicians” hasn’t worked out so well.

I believe government should be honest, limited, and accountable to the people it serves. That belief didn’t come from a party platform. It came from experience.

I served in the United States Marine Corps before and during the Gulf War era, including at Operation Desert Storm. The Marine Corps teaches two lessons that will stick with me for life: responsibility matters, and excuses don’t fix problems.

After the military, I built a career outside of politics — working in technical and professional fields where results matter more than slogans. I’ve lived the consequences of bad policy, bureaucratic waste, and systems that protect themselves instead of the people depending on them.

I didn’t “become” a Libertarian because of ideology — I arrived here because it’s the only political philosophy that consistently treats adults like adults.

I don’t believe the government should run your life, your business, your body, or your speech. I also don’t believe it should be captured by corporations, special interests, or party leadership.

Libertarianism, at its core, is simple: protect individual liberty, demand fiscal honesty, and keep power as close to the people as possible.
