From the Indianapolis Star on September 6:
“Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson will visit Purdue University next week for a public forum with university president Mitch Daniels, his campaign announced.
“The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center, 355 N. Martin Jischke Dr. in West Lafayette, and is open to the public.
“The Johnson campaign is playing up the similarities between him and Daniels, the former Indiana governor, in an effort to drum up support among Indiana Republicans ahead of the November election. ‘Johnson, like Daniels, is a strong advocate for small government and personal freedom’, the campaign said in a press release.
“Tickets are free and seating is first come, first served. Passes for early entry at 4:30 p.m. can be reserved online here, but they do not guarantee a seat after 5 p.m., when the doors open to everyone.
“The event was initially planned for Loeb Hall, but it was relocated to the larger venue.
“Brian Zink, a spokesman for Purdue, said Daniels also issued invitations to Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton, but Johnson so far has been the only candidate to respond.”
