The North Carolina Libertarian Party will have 18 candidates on the 2016 general election ballot. The filing period closed December 21.
The LPNC will have three statewide candidates, one US House candidate, 12 candidates running for the state legislature, and two running for county commission.
“We must garner 2% of the vote in the Gubernatorial or Presidential race to maintain ballot access”, said LPNC chair J. J. Summerell.
“Beyond 2016 we are looking closely at NC House and Senate districts which are potentially winnable in 2018 or 2020. Interesting times for the LPNC…”
