Atlas Shrugged, the movie, was released last Friday, April 15. A group of LNC members and staff went to see the opening of the movie last Friday in Washington, D.C.
The response seemed fairly positive. LNC Chairman Mark Hinkle had previously made the following comments after seeing an early screening of the film:
"The Libertarian Party of California managed to get the first digital screening of Atlas Shrugged Part 1 in a regular theater Friday evening [April 8]. This is a very well-made movie and it brought tears of joy to my eyes several times during the movie. I thought the running of the high-speed train over the John Galt Line was very impressive. It sent chills up and down my spine.
"I look forward to seeing it again next Friday evening with many of you. I strongly suspect you won’t be disappointed. We simply must have Part 2 shown at our 2012 convention next year! And maybe Part 1 as well."
