Dear Friend of Liberty,
If you look at the donation counter on our home page, you will see we recently surpassed our $200,900 goal for online donations for 2009. We’re at just over $210,000 at the time of writing this.
That’s good news — but unfortunately, there’s bad news too. Our donations by mail are way down this year. Even though we cut our total budget from $1.8 million last year to $1.2 million this year, by June 30 we were already running $75,000 short.
I need your help now to start counteracting these downturns.
The thing is, I’m very excited about opportunities for the Libertarian Party to make a huge impact in the 2010 elections. Poll after poll shows Americans are fed up with Republicans and Democrats.
President Obama and the Democrats are trying to force a socialized health care system on us. Republicans claim to be against socialized medicine, but former President Bush and the Republicans gave us a giant socialized Medicare drug program just a few years ago. What a bunch of hypocrites.
Meanwhile, President Obama appears to be ramping up the war and casualties in Afghanistan. Don’t Democrats claim to be against war? Yeah, right.
The Libertarian Party has consistently fought to decrease the size and scope of government since its founding in 1971. That’s why when I first found out about the LP in 1996, I joined immediately.
Please go online and make a donation today to help our party get back on a growth path. I need your help today.
Sincerely,
Wes Benedict
