CANDIDATE SUPPORT

Running for office requires more than filing paperwork and appearing on a ballot. Candidates need visibility, professional campaign materials, reliable information, and ways for voters to learn who they are and where to find their campaigns.

The Libertarian Party’s Candidate Support resources are designed to help candidates establish that presence and connect their campaigns with a broader audience. The national party currently maintains a searchable Meet Our Candidates directory on LP.org, with individual candidate profiles containing information such as office sought, election date, biography, and, where provided, a link to the candidate’s campaign website.

Candidate Profiles & Online Visibility

One of the most valuable tools we can provide is a professional candidate presence on LP.org.

Candidate profiles give voters another way to discover campaigns while creating a direct connection between the national party website and individual campaign websites. Google notes that links help search engines discover pages and can serve as signals when determining relevance, making these connections useful for building a campaign’s broader online presence.

Candidate registration also allows campaigns to provide their website, social media accounts, photograph, biography, office sought, election date, and other information used to help maintain accurate candidate information.

Graphics, Video & Campaign Media

Candidate Support can also help campaigns tell their story visually.

Our work includes producing graphics, video clips, and other media assets that can be used across social media and other digital platforms to introduce candidates, highlight campaigns, and provide professional content that candidates and affiliates can share.

The national Candidate Support program also identifies media and campaign resources such as video templates, website resources, training materials, and campaign strategy support as part of the tools available to Libertarian candidates.

The goal is to make it easier for candidates to spend their limited time campaigning while providing them with useful tools for communicating professionally with voters.

Expanding Candidate Support

Election season creates significant demand for candidate services. Additional funding can expand the number and range of resources available, including:

  • Website and digital campaign resources
  • Training materials and campaign guidance
  • Communications resources for candidates and campaign teams
  • Additional tools that help campaigns improve their visibility and organization

The Libertarian National Committee maintains a dedicated Candidate Support Fund for resources provided to Libertarian candidates. Contributions to that fund support candidate tools and services during the election cycle.

Contribution Rules

  1. I am a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
  2. This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
  3. I am not a federal contractor.
  4. I am making this contribution with my own personal funds and not from corporate or business funds or funds belonging to another person.
  5. Only donations made within the last 30 days are eligible for a refund. Store purchases, contest entry fees, and event tickets are non-refundable.
Contributions or gifts to the Libertarian National Committee are not tax deductible. The maximum annual contribution is $41,300.
