The Libertarian National Committee is seeking volunteers to serve on its Convention Oversight Committee. Additionally, volunteers are needed to assist with the 2018 Libertarian National Convention. There will be three non-LNC members that will be selected by the LNC Chairman in addition to the four members selected from amongst LNC members and alternates. The seven members of the committee may opt to take on assistants to aid with their roles as well. Even if you don’t want to directly be on the committee, but would like the help in any capacity, we would like to hear from you.
The COC and its volunteers plan the Libertarian National Convention and then coordinate with national staff to create and host the event. The actual COC members also work to identify potential locations for future conventions for the LNC to decide upon.
Specific experience needed includes, but is not limited to:
- Event planning
- Fundraising
- Audio/Visual
- Logistics
- Recruiting
- Personnel management/volunteer coordination
- Contract negotiations
- Security
The committee will meet and do most work via conference call or electronically. There may be rare occasion that the COC will have physical meetings but expect 95%+ of the work to be done remotely.
You don’t have to be an event planner or an A/V specialist to apply for the committee or to be a volunteer.

- a brief note with your vision for how NLP conventions should be conducted
- description of any work you’ve done for the Libertarian Party
