The Virginia Libertarian Party will be running eight candidates for partisan office this November, including five for the state legislature, two for county office, and one for local office.
The Virginia LP also had eight candidates on the ballot last year, as they ran candidates for the US Senate and seven of the eleven US House seats, a record for a non-establishment party in the state.
Virginia is one of four states which conducts races for their state legislature in odd-numbered years. The others are Kentucky, Mississippi, and New Jersey.
Virginia and New Jersey are also the only states with partisan elections every year.
