The St. Louis Beacon has published a fairly extensive article on the Libertarian National Convention last weekend. It includes some coverage of our new chairman, Mark Hinkle:
Hinkle, 59 and a small businessman, said he campaigned as a uniter. But he emphasized that, as chairman, he won’t shy away from the Libertarian Party’s longstanding platform.
When it comes to Social Security, for example, Hinkle said that young Americans are coming around to the Libertarian Party’s view that "it’s a Ponzi scheme, it’s bankrupt, and sooner or later it’s got to come to an end."
Hinkle cites recent statistics showing that the Libertarian Party is the only political party to gain members since late 2008. "People are thirsting for a different alternative to Republicans and Democrats," he said.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch also published this article about the convention over the weekend.
