Libertarian presidential and vice-presidential candidates Gary Johnson and Bill Weld are on the ballot in Alabama, as the Secretary of State confirmed on August 25 that more than enough petition signatures are valid.
Johnson and Weld will appear on the ballot as “Independent”, due to Alabama’s restrictive ballot access laws. Alabama has not had any ballot-qualified parties statewide, other than Democratic and Republican, since November 2002.
