The Executive Vice President of the Cato Institute recently wrote a piece for POLITICO magazine’s debate forum. In his writing, David Boaz asserts that some of Obama’s recent December victories have reflected libertarian values.
Including Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and the federal pay freeze, these measures have echoed the libertarian goals of less government and more freedom. While the president is far from being a libertarian, Boaz claims, Obama has done more to please libertarians in the month of December than he has during all his prior time in office.
