Run Locally

Did you know that Libertarians who run for local offices like city council, mayor, and school board win their races one-third of the time?

Local government makes decisions that directly affect your daily life: from spending and taxes to regulation, policing, school curriculums, and zoning. By running for local office, you have the power to protect and expand liberty in your own community.

Even more, through the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, local governments retain the majority of decision-making authority. This means they can push back against unconstitutional federal laws, regulations, and mandates. It’s a double win for liberty!

The Libertarian Party is going local to defend freedom where it matters most. Our goal is to elect 100 local officials by the end of 2026, and we’re recruiting, training, and supporting candidates to spread freedom from the ground up.

Join the movement. Run for local office and be the change!
